In 2008 I went to Golden West College for Floral design. After completing my CCF (Certified California Designer) course, I was lucky to find mentors like Phil Rulloda, Karen Tran and Preston Bailey. They are masters in their craft and greatly influenced my journey with their genius level of skill.
I have taken bits and pieces from their teachings and from my own journey and carefully curated the brand I have today so that I can offer the best experience in floral design.

Meet Sherry
When I was young I was exposed to really lavish parties and events because most of my family was in the entertainment business. From an early age, I was exposed to the art of staging an event. I was always excited to see the process of transforming an ordinary venue to something awe inspiring for celebrations of all kinds. Flowers and lighting are an integral part of celebration design and always the most exciting part for me.
I always wanted to work from home because my kids were young. After completing my courses for wedding, corporate and social events, I opened “iDesign Events” in 2000. In 2008, I decided to add Florals to my portfolio. I discovered that I really enjoyed making floral designs for clients, and the rest is history.
Though I still have iDesign Events, my primary focus is Blooms by Design.
In today’s world, I believe the way to stand out in the crowd is through hospitality brand elevation and enriching the guest experience by creating powerful emotional connections.

our design process
I truly get inspired by each couple who walks through our door. When we initially get an inquiry form from a client, we approach it one of two ways. If the Bride/Groom are local, we like to ask them to come in for an in-person meeting where we can learn more about them and their floral vision. If they are not local, then we set up an initial zoom call to understand their vision and get the feel of their wedding wishes.
Our Inspiration comes in many forms, including travel, art exhibitions, the season, events one has attended, etc. Because images are key in telling a design story, we utilize Pinterest boards that the couples provide us to develop a cohesive look from start to finish. Then we draft a proposal and an inspiration board. Anything that inspires us makes it into our design boards!
What is most important to us is that the Bride and Groom along with their families are comfortable, so our designs stay fluid until right about a month before their big day. Then we lock everything in, do final walk-throughs, and get ready to execute!
